Rachel & Austin had originally planned for a large wedding with all of their family and friends in Greenville in April of 2020. Because of the pandemic, and impending closures, they decided with the guidance of their photographer Anna, to move their wedding up one week and elope with only their immediate families present. Everyone made haste to pull things together with 24 hours notice. Christine whipped up a cake and cupcakes, Petal Pickers harvested some flowers from the field and everyone pulled decor together to hike up the mountain.
Rachel had always planned to DIY her flowers, she had done it once before for a friend’s wedding and loved arranging flowers for small gatherings. She ordered buckets of flowers from Petal Pickers and met Daniel at the farm that morning to grab them early so she could assemble bouquets before she met everyone to hike.
A few months later a friend reached out about freelancing for her floral company. Rachel jumped right in and fell in love with the industry. When her friend announced the closure of her business Rachel decided she didn’t want to stop flowering people’s wedding so she started Rachel Deneroy Designs.
